The way to kick off a Wedding Season!

WOW, I cannot believe it’s been this long since I’ve put keyboard to Blog again. I’m now on Wedding no. 5 of the year and I haven’t yet Blogged the first of the Season; so let’s put that right.

For those of you new to my website, Blog or social media world, I’m Emma, a Suffolk Wedding Photographer, also working across Norfolk. I’m from the little Coastal town of Lowestoft and I love my small town life by the sea with my partner Jack and mischievous pup Albie (which is the polite way of saying what Albie is really like…).

I understand more than most the impact of Wedding Photography and how it can live on down the generations of your family, as well as allowing Bride and Groom’s to relive their Wedding days for the years to come.

So with that being said, let me introduce you to the wonderful Mr + Mrs McMurtry, who actually booked with me back in 2019! But unfortunately due to Covid, there’s been a few postponements. Although it was worth every effort, because just look at these images on how it all came together:

The day was beautiful from start to finish and very much all designed around their two children, Zack and Rosie! It was a great to receive direction from Mr + Mrs McMurtry about exactly what they wanted from their Wedding Photography… Which was with their children at the centre! Safe to say, there was lots of cute imagery both candid and posed of the little ones.

So, let’s talk Ceremony!:

Mrs McMurtry was walked down the aisle by her Dad and the Ceremony was held in the ‘Crooked Barn’ at Ivy House Country Hotel, a Suffolk Wedding Venue in Lowestoft. I did bounce a flash light in this part of the day, due to their being no light down the end where the Bride and Groom’s are married, but Mr + Mrs McMurtry both took it in their stride and I continued to blend as much as possible into the background of my designated corner.

The Ceremony was beautiful, there was tears, there was joy and definitely celebration after the long awaited day!

Considering it was mid March the weather was beautiful and definitely t-shirt and shorts worthy, once again proving… You cannot predict British weather! So there’s not much point planning a Wedding around it ;)

I hope this Blog post has either given you some nostalgia OR some inspiration when planning your Wedding.

Until next time,

Emma x
